David Benady – journalist, writer and technology analyst
I’m a journalist and analyst specialising in technology, media and business strategy. My work appears in the pages of The Times, The Sunday Times, The Guardian, on the Guardian Media Network website and in specialist news brands such as Campaign and Transform. I write reports on technology issues such as mobile commerce, adtech and online personalisation.
For The Guardian, I have just finished a recruitment supplement on breaking into technology. I’ve also written up a series of sponsored round-table discussions covering subjects such as robotics, artificial intelligence, cyber security and retail.
I write pieces for Raconteur, which creates special subject supplements for The Times and The Sunday Times. My work has included articles on wearable technology, the Internet of Things and the digital economy. I have written advertorials for these supplements on subjects such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and virtual reality headsets.
Recently I’ve researched and written a 15,000-word report on the use of mobile marketing in the travel business for industry specialists EyeforTravel.com. Other work includes a series of blogs, infographics and SlideShare presentations for a client specialising in digital personalisation.
My corporate work includes appearing in corporate videos as a retail futurologist, chairing conference sessions, ghost-writing comment pieces and putting together strategy papers and press releases for advertising agencies. I’ve also written up awards entries and advertorials. I covered the 2016 Advertising Week London conference in a series of blogs on the organisers’ website. At the 2014 Cannes Lions, I blogged about the conference sessions for media agency PHD Worldwide and created a book entitled “Mind Trip.”
